Houston Auto Window Tinting | Streak & Scratches
What is causing my window tint to streak and scratch?
All car doors have a weather strip seals on either side of the window glass. These weather-strips touch the window creating a seal to help keep dirt, water and noise from entering your door panel and vehicle. After taking a close look, you should notice the inside seal has a fuzzy layer of felt applied to it.
This is true for most vehicles, however certain makes and models don’t have a felt layer on the window canal of the door. Their manufacturers neglected to put this felt on the inside seal of the window. This inside window seal is made of hard plastic. With no felt applied to it, this hard weather strip will start to collect dirt and dust which in turn rubs against your vertical lines and scratches.
This looks cosmetically bad and it destroys the window film causing you to have to return to the tint shop and re-tint the car all over again. Fortunately there is a solution to this problem, simply install the felt layer on your window canal, Call us today (281) 748 – 5660 and we can order a strip of felt specifically for your vehicle or order here.
Before you get your auto tinted, find out if your vehicle is one of those whose manufacturer neglected to put this felt on the inside seal of the window. You can contact Sun Shield Window Tint and one of our representative can help you answer this question and others you may have. Also remember you can virtually tint your vehicle here
